2017 Results

Kingswood Classic 2017 Results:

The 21st Kingswood Golf Classic held on June 3, 2017, saw 78 golfers on the Sussex Golf Course to Play with the Purpose of raising funds for financial aid and scholarships for Kingswood University.

Individual Achievements (team)

Longest Drive on Hole # 1 – Bill Moore (Green Diamond Equipment)

Closest to Pin on Hole # 6 –John Wesselius (Fundy Agriculture)

Closest to Hole on Putting Green – Rod Guptill, AJ Guptill (Team Guptill)

The Top Church Trophy given for number teams in the tournament, distance travelled and funds raised goes to Saint John First who fielded three teams and raised over $3,000 for the Golf Classic.  Congratulations to Lead Pastor Graham Perry.

Top Three Fundraising Teams

The top three fundraising teams earn Naming rights to Scholarships to be awarded to Kingswood University students in the fall semester. 

1. The top Scholarship valued at $3,000 is awarded to Team Sussex comprised of Tony Benson, Jeff Fuller, Hugh Hogg and Steve Moffett, raising a total of $7,880. The Donald R. Moffett Memorial Golf Scholarship is named in memory of long-time member of the team, Don Moffett.

2. The Brown’s Flat Community Scholarship valued at $2,000 is named by the Brown’s Flat team of Anne MacNeill, Heather Gray, and Mike & Jennifer Veres, raising a total of $3,120.

3. The Wayne “Chappy” Cook Honourary Golf Scholarship valued at $1,000 is named by the Grand Manan team of Michael Park, Casey Benson, Roger Morse, and Leon Quick.
Funds Raised:  $2,857.

Top Individual Fundraiser:  Anne MacNeill, raising $2,595.

2nd Place Fundraiser:  Tony Benson, raising $2,580

3rd Place Fundraiser:  Michael Park, raising $2,217

2nd Place (tie): Fredericton:  Peter Beckwith, Ken Hooper, Ron McArthur, Bob Wood – 68

2nd Place (tie): City Auto:  Mark Muscroft, Mike Swift, Kevin Bernard, Kevin Wynn – 68

 

Over $56,000 was raised through corporate sponsorships and golfers raising support.  Thank you to all who participated, making this a very successful Golf Classic.
